September 2, 2018

Rising 7th grader with his Mom at "Fee Day."

TMS is simplifying and unifying grading policies among teachers school wide. Review these newly revised practices for details about grading categories, make-up work, and missing assignments.

To help your Patriot keep up with daily and long-term assignments, make sure they purchase a TMS Agenda for $5.00, available through their Block 1 & 5 classes. The agenda book includes the TMS student handbook, monthly calendars, daily matrix for recording homework, hall passes and more!

Educate Your Family About Food Allergies

September 2, 2018

Roughly, two children per classroom suffer from a food allergy, with peanut allergies nearly tripling among children in recent years. Allergic reactions can range from a harmless itch, to shortness of breath, to life-threatening issues–such an anaphylaxis–creating a serious concern in schools. Familiarize yourself and your family on the facts and statistics of allergies with the timely, relevant website, F.A.R.E. (Food Allergy Research & Education) , featuring fact sheets on common allergens, strategies to deal with these allergens, and the latest medical research.

Special Thanks to Student & Parent Volunteers

September 1, 2018

Student volunteers the week before school starts

A host of students and PTA parents contributed their last days of summer break to volunteer their time and talents at TMS. Some sorted computer cords and organized laptops for distribution during “Fee Day” on Aug. 28. Others manned the sidewalks to greet new 6th graders who visited campus with their parents during our “Open House” on Aug. 29. Volunteer “sales teams” posted big sales in TMS spirit wear, selling t-shirts and other TMS logo items to visiting Patriot families. A few TMS “graduates” also came back to campus to help teachers decorate their classrooms for the new school year. Many thanks for these helping hands!

Campus Abuzz with Students & Families!

Art teacher welcomes returning students.

Despite the record heat wave, our campus was buzzing this week with Patriot families who participated in our Open House for 6th Graders and our Fee Day for 7th & 8th Graders. Students “walked” their class schedules, met teachers and administrators, and selected colorful TMS “spirit wear” grade levels.

These special events added a bright touch to Teacher Work Week, when staff is making final preparations to welcome all students for an exciting school year ahead.
